This class provides the student with intermediate level video processing and management techniques for video evidence examination workflows. Both analog and digital video security system technologies will be reviewed as well as the tools available for processing. As a hands-on class, students will be given the opportunity to practice the techniques taught in class on Avid laptop systems utilizing forensic filters.

Techniques of capturing video evidence for analog

Understanding the differences in demultiplexing techniques

Customizing the Avid environment
Utilizing dynamic presentation techniques
Understanding frame averaging techniques
Image adjustment techniques for video
Methods of exporting and importing images and video
Day 3
Working with the Timeline
Audio processing for video
Methods for organizing casework
Archiving techniques
Requirements:
Computer Skills
Basic computer skills are required to complete this training. In addition, students are expected to be able to process video evidence using the basic processing techniques employed in the Avid systems. Specifically, students should be able to capture analog video, capture digital video, import digital video, apply filters (demultiplexing, resize, frame average, etc.), export graphic files, and process video for real-time playback in Avid systems. Participation
Multiple hands-on exercises will be included during each module. Class participation is required in order to achieve successful completion of the class.
